Evangeline is one of the few souls alive with a heart pure enough to be accepted in the presence of the Myanites, an ancient species of creature that had long slumbered in the quiet and peaceful shadows of the world. They are very sensitive creatures and can generally sense machinery from miles away and exhibit intense curiosity about such devices.
Evangeline is also another daughter of “The Three” — whose reckless scientific ambition and moral decay caused the end of civilization in an event known as The Shattered Eye, in which the very atmosphere grew malevolent, suffused with an unforgiving harshness that choked the breath of all living things. These changes led all life to struggle with basic functions such as breathing and thinking. The Moon Mother crafted many devices of artificial nature to help augment and support these life-giving functions, of which almost no living thing could now survive without. The Myanites are one of the few species who do not now require machinery to survive in this new hostile and poisoned land known as Cressentia.
