Eira's Spirit Fox — Brett Branning artwork

Eira's Spirit Fox

In a land of dystopian chaos and maliced ruin, there lived a girl named Eira. She was an ethereal beauty with a mechanical helm that glinted down her frame like a waterfall of sunshine. Her eyes were a piercing blue that could see through the darkness of the world around her, and her skin was of porcelain, flawless and smooth.

Eira had a secret companion, a spirit fox that lived inside her head, made of the wind and dew, only appearing in physical form at dusk and dawn. Its fur was the color of honey and its eyes were a rich amber, glowing with a kind and loving intelligence. The fox whispered secrets to Eira, guiding her through the treacherous terrain of the dystopian wasteland.

As they wandered through the crumbling shambles of what was once a bustling city, where all her loved ones had perished, Eira and her fox encountered all manner of treachery. They braved fierce sandstorms and dodged deadly traps set by the ruthless factions that controlled the land. But with the fox's help, Eira somehow always emerged victorious.

Despite the horrors of their world, Eira found beauty in the little things. She marveled at the way the sun would sometimes peek shyly through the clouds and smoke, casting a golden glow over the desolate and shifting landscape. She listened to the haunting melodies of the wind as it whipped through the abandoned buildings, and she breathed in the scent of wildflowers that bloomed in the most unexpected places.

With her ghostly fox by her side, Eira never lost hope. She knew that one day, they would find a way to bring light back into their world. And until that day came, she would continue to seek out and reflect upon the rare moments of beauty that made this life so sacred.
