Butterfly Princess

In the land of Elthoria, where magic flowed like rivers and creatures of myth danced beneath the silver moonlight, there lived a young maiden named Elowen.

She was raised by gentle hands beneath the ancient boughs of trees, where she was allowed to explore and play in safety. Elowen slowly discovered the hushed conversations of life in its many myriad of forms. The rustling leaves spoke to her, the babbling brooks whispered secrets, and the symphony of insects' wings fluttering became a serenade to her innocence.

Elowen's heart held a gentle courage that drew the admiration of both commoners and royalty alike. It was said that she possessed a rare gift, the power to communicate with the creatures of the air and while she couldn't quite control them, she could impart her desires upon them, making her goals aligned with their own. One fateful day, as the sun painted the horizon with hues of gold and amber, Elowen ventured deep into the Glade of Rivers, a place staunchly put off limits by her parents. This forest was much older than the surrounding fields and hills, known to be a destination where the veil between the mortal world and the magical realm grew thin, allowing for strange and wondrous adventures to occur.

On this particular day, Elowen felt a compulsion to move into the darkest canopies of this forgotten realm, her steps guided by an unseen hand. As she ventured further into the web of the glade, her heart unburdened by fear, she heard a thunderous rush of wind from above and felt a presence larger than she had ever encountered before. Up until this day, her abilities had only been tested on small and gentle creatures such as butterflies and dragonflies, but soon she would learn that her powers extended to the much more intelligent and dangerous beasts of the sky. Elowen's curiosity was about to traverse the path of an ancient dragon named Belgoroth, and their first conversation would lay the groundwork of many important events about to unfold, which would reshape her home, and the lives of all who inhabited it.
