Lorelei's homeland had been ravished by many years of hardship and toil. Most plants and sources of life had been seared by The Shattered Eye long before her birth or even the birth of her parent's parents. In her home, filled with a vast collection of curious things from her travels, she had toiled for many years building contraptions that could collect and spread pollen and seeds around her surrounding barren landscapes, but had never been able to collect enough to make much of an impact.
It was told that in the days when the world was young and the stars still hummed their ancient songs, there lived creatures, made of fur, feather and pure light. These creatures, who could easily fit in the cup of your hands, could fuse with others of their kind while in flight and could create intricate shapes that spanned the skies and could collectively muster forces of nature strong enough to bend the very stars themselves.
It was said that this creature was born from the first shimmers of sunlight to touch the earth, when the very ground was still soft, wet and pliable. As the light caressed the earth, it mingled with soil and flower, and from that union drew the very essence of their being.
It is said that their songs can lull any plant into blossom and any seed to instantly germinate and grow with a fervor both unnatural and terrifying to behold. Deep into the cycle of her 21st year, Lorelei set out on the perilous quest to find their nest and after many months of dangerous adventures, finally penetrated their hidden glade, piercing its silvered veil, eager to learn their secrets.
