Athalia and the Owl — Brett Branning artwork

Athalia and the Owl

Athalia possessed both mortal and divine heritage. Inspired by the tales of her mother, the Goddess Athena, and with her heart brimming with determination and her mind aflame with divine insight, she sought the guidance of the enigmatic Myanites.

The Myanites believed demi-gods to be vessels through which the whispers of forgotten wisdom could manifest. With reverence, they bestowed upon her their luminous presence and shared their intricate knowledge of the cosmic weave.

Together, Athalia and the Myanites embarked on a journey of craftsmanship, a symphony of celestial and mechanical artistry interwoven. They delved into the hidden depths of forgotten alloys, harnessing the secrets of ancient metallurgy to fashion sinewy plumes and intricate mechanical bones and beak. Guided by the Myanites' ethereal luminescence, Athalia meticulously shaped each feather, cog, and joint, imbuing them with the essence of Athena's divine intelligence.

Each mechanical limb shimmered with a silvery radiance, as if reflecting the light of distant stars. Its eyes, fashioned from precious gemstones as black as the Pit of Knowledge, gleamed with a piercing intensity, mirroring the keen insights from beyond this realm.

Heralding the dawn of enlightenment, in a world still grappling with the aftermath of The Shattered Eye, the forces of good gather quietly.
